How To Properly Maintain A Precision Spot Welding Machine?

Therefore, workers must take appropriate safety precautions during welding to avoid unnecessary losses. With prolonged use, a white medium can accumulate on the electrodes, increasing resistance and affecting weld quality. So, how should we maintain this equipment?

 

1. Before Use

Before using the precision spot welding machine, we should first power it on and check if the equipment is operating normally. If there are no abnormal noises, it is normal. Then check if the electrodes are on the same horizontal plane. If oxidation or blackening appears on the surface, the electrodes can be sanded.

 

2. During Use

During use, we can observe the product's condition. If sparks or blackening occur, the precision spot welding machine needs to be adjusted to avoid affecting product quality and work efficiency. We also need to check the cooling water; if blockages are found, the scale and obstructions in the water pipes should be removed promptly.

 

3. Post-Use

After daily use, regularly check the power supply limits and ensure the internal wiring screws of the precision spot welding machine are functioning properly. Replace any damaged or loose screws promptly. Also, lubricate the oil mist lubricator to ensure the oil level is within the required range, and clean the dust from the air filter regularly.

To ensure the lifespan of the precision spot welding machine, in addition to proper maintenance, careful selection is crucial. From a process perspective, we can choose based on the welding materials used. Spot welding machines require rapid heating, necessitating materials with low resistance. The electrodes affect the weld quality, so they must be kept clean and ensure the upper and lower electrodes are parallel.
