Common problems in precision spot welding: Incomplete weld penetration and spatter during welding, preventing the spot welder from welding. Therefore, the following points should be noted when using a spot welder:

 

Overheating of the spot welder:

1. Check if the insulation resistance between the electrode holder and the machine body is poor, causing a local short circuit.

2. Check if the inlet water pressure, water flow rate, and water supply temperature are appropriate, and if there is dirt or blockage in the system, causing the electrode arm to overheat due to poor cooling.

3. Check if the contact surfaces of the copper flexible connector and electrode head are severely oxidized, leading to a significant increase in contact resistance and overheating.

4. Check the weld thickness and whether the continuous load rate meets the standard, causing the welder to overheat due to overload.

 

What are some common problems in precision spot welding?

Spatter during spot welding:

1. Check if the current is too high or the pressure is too low.

2. Insufficient strength of the welded workpiece: The current decreases during welding, resulting in a weak weld.

 

Incomplete weld penetration, poor or absent weld nugget formation:

1. Incomplete penetration during spot welding, lacking a bean-shaped weld nugget. This defect is dangerous, as it significantly reduces the weld strength.

2. Adjust welding parameters. If the parameters are confirmed to be correct, check the main power circuit, such as whether the power supply is sufficient and whether the welding transformer is damaged.
